Ongoing Studies
In the REaH Lab, we examine how people build and sustain thriving lives in the context of close relationships, using a wide range of methods, including experience sampling (e.g., daily diary studies), in-lab observations of couples, and psychophysiological monitoring. Below, we highlight four broad themes and a few questions guiding our ongoing research.

Singlehood
What shapes people’s satisfaction with being single? How do personal and social circumstances influence whether and when people enter romantic relationships?

Couplehood
How do emotional experiences and expressions shape relationship quality? What makes it more difficult for some people than others to sustain high-quality relationships?

Relationships & Health
How does partnered sexual activity shape subsequent sleep processes? Which features of sexual experiences matter most for health and well-being?

Methods
How does the way we study relationships shape what we find? How can we recruit more diverse samples and produce findings that generalize more broadly?
