What We Do
Below, we highlight four broad themes and some of the questions guiding our current work. We examine these questions using a wide range of methods, including experience sampling (e.g., daily diary studies), in-lab observations, and psychophysiology. More information about specific projects will be available soon!

Singlehood
What does work-nonwork balance look like for single people? What roles do friendships play in the lives of older single adults?

Couplehood
What gets in the way of expressing positive emotions in relationships? How do cultural contexts shape how people experience and respond to relational boredom?

Relationships & Health
How does sexual activity shape subsequent sleep processes? Which features of sexual experiences matter most for health and well-being?

Methods
How does the way we study relationships shape what we find? How can we recruit more diverse samples and produce findings that generalize more broadly?
